Carl Giboney, former CTO of Colorado State Parks and youngest son of Mary Giboney, was a personal mentor and influence on Craig Newell (Executive Director), and continues to influence youth as a volunteer for technology programs at a local school. His ability to connect with children and show how they can leverage technology as a future, creates a roadmap toward skills development in this highly-underrepresented field.
In honor of Carl and his passion for youth in technology. the Carl Giboney Scholarship for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math has been created to provide financial support for a student of a minority background (African-American, Latino, and native American) pursuing a technology education at an accredited four-year university.
The Carl Giboney Scholarship for 2023-2024 offers a one-time, $1000 ($500 per semester) college scholarship that provides financial support focused on helping Giboney Foundation scholars academic success. The scholarship can be used at any accredited nonprofit college or university, in the United States, to pursue degrees in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)-based fields.
